June 08, 2012 In the peace of quiet moments I will remember the joys of a very special person. Ginger was a dear friend to Herb and me. My deepest sympathy to Herbert, John and Malinda and their families. Joan Martin ~ Joan Martin, Burlington, Vermont

June 06, 2012 A great and generous friend with an admirable memory for things past, a contemporary grasp of this complicated world, a hearty appetite and a love of social situations and get-togethers. Even in her 80s, Ginger was an attractive woman with a good measure of gentlemen admirers. Her physical challenges never slowed her down. Like many others, I miss her. ~ RIchard Molay, Saranac Lake, New York

Ginger Weeks, MD, was a friend, an ally in all things good for children's health, a board member at my husband's ADK Nature Conservancy office, my board member when I worked as administrator for a decade at Essex County Mental Health Services, and a lover of all things outdoors. She was also our children's pediatrician. She was a dligient board member, but even more diligent, if that's possible, as a doctor. She counseled me on getting outside expert opinions when needed, and helped us think through newer approaches for our younger child who was injured and chronically ill from repeated pesticide and other chemical exposures. It was a long hard road for us, but Ginger stayed on top of it. Mom to mom, she gave me confidence to handle some very tough decisions, and I have been forever grateful for her insights and generous counsel. I think of her often in my day to day work, where we hear from parents -- mostly moms-- whose children are seriously ill and absent due to chemical and other exposures at school. And no one but the parent is advocating for the affected child. It happens every day: last year 40% of school nurses surveyed nationally told us they knew children affected by pollutants inside schools, and we know that indoor exposures are 100 to 1,000 more intense than outdoor exposures. I wish I could have told Ginger that. She might have said something I heard her say before -- -- you won't learn anything new if you don't look. Ginger was always looking ahead and looking out for health and the environment.

May 31, 2012 Dr. Weeks, or Ginger, whom knew her could hardly separate the two in her later life too. Only knew her for five years and loved her dearly as the strongest spirited women doctor I wanted to know. Impressive to the end is my final image of this fine person. She gave me a reason to smile when meeting her professionally and friendly times . Thanks for giving her the independence she required to get through her final days. God will watch her now, Peace over her families, patients, friends. ~ P. Minton-Peebles, Saranac Lake, New York

May 29, 2012 Dear Malinda and Family. I am so sorry Ginger became so ill. I am glad she is at peace now. I am glad you could all be with her. She was a force in her day. A real example of a woman doctor and very kind to her patients and colleagues. I step on her shoulders...for my interactions with her, not only as a Mom and GrandMom, but a mentor to the younger women doctors that knew her. With Love from The Family, Clare ~ Clare Wilmot, Waterford, Vermont

I was very saddened to hear about Ginger. I still always called her Dr. Weeks! Growing up in a Physicians Family we always respected all. I worked for the Surgeons and Called Everyone DR. She was a Great Asset to many families and in our community. She worked closely w/ my dad on many committees. The biggest one I remember was Sports Medicine. Many Medical Minds that helped so many. My parents are both 93 and doing fair for their frail age and living Alone in Rainbow Lake ..since 1978.

Ginger ,no matter where I saw her she would smile and ask how are Len and Ginny.. Always sending her best.

Though words seem inadequate at this time frame, know that you are Remembered....

I do hope this small message will also bring you Comfort today and in the days to Come Thinking of every one with my deepest sympathies on the loss of an Extremely Brilliant ,Kind Caring and Giving Woman.

She was Special in so many ways. <3

Love, thoughts and Prayers to all...

May 12, 2012 Dear Malinda, Herbert & John, What a hole inn your hearts your dear mother will leave – as well as in the hearts and minds of so many people who loved and admired her indomitable spirit and love of people and of life. I have been remembering when we first me her, through my mother, Gretta Prince – and then when John and Herbert appeared to call on Libby at the old house in Essex. Our love and prayers surround you as you accompany her in her last journey, hand held tightly. If she can hear you in her coma, please tell her that Happy and Jim Marsh love her and think her a terrific role model. With love and sympathy, Happy & Jim Marsh
